Urban decay makes me sleepy, but that isn't what this is about.

Pilsen, Fall 2009

This is where Marcel once lived.  We light off firecrackers together when hes feeling antsy.  Mathilde likes him a lot and he kicked some hipster's kneecap outside a show last week for insulting the Old Grandad bourbon we were sharing.

The city had these row houses fenced off, the fence having two overlapping layers of green mesh on both sides of it.  I managed to find a chink in the armor and took this photo right before a private security guard came up to harass me.  What the hell is up with private security guards protecting city property from a guy taking a picture from the sidewalk?  Five wreckers took the whole complex of 6 buildings down in one night.  I wish Chicago was this efficient at building housing.  The wreckers are still there sitting idle 5 months later.  Its all fucked.

This place is ten times creepier in person.

Broken elevator and incidental greenhouse.

Fire pit in the vacant lot a block away from my house where I take my dog sometimes.  Its warm half the time, but Ive never seen a person back there yet.  Must be some kind of ninja homebum.
